The UK unemployment rate reached its highest level since 1995, data from the Office for National Statistics showed on last Wednesday.
In their report, the Office for National Statistics said that the claimant count rose by a seasonally adjusted 1,200 in December, significantly below expectations for an increase of 8,000.
